Many juicers commented that they cannot afford to buy all organic. So I wanted to find something that would work for you.
When making decisions on produce, many look to The Dirty Dozen Organic Foods list. This list changes annually, and varies slightly based on the sources you research, but they are basically the fruits and vegetables that retain the highest amount of pesticides in the growth of the produce. Since most of us can’t afford to go completely organic, if you decide that you want to incorporate more organic produce in your diet, begin to focus on going organic with these 12, or at least soak in fruit wash and/or peel. I’ve made a complete switch and think anyone that is health conscious should do it as well.
I believe every piece of fruit or vegetable has a frequency to it and you become what you eat from an energetic perspective, so why contaminate yourself with food that lowers your vibration. More on this later. Feel free to share this chart with your friends and family that you want to keep healthy.

Toxic substances are everywhere, it’s in the air we breathe, certain foods we eat (non-organic, GMO) and even the water we drink. More and more chemicals that did not exist before are being dumped
Toxic Chemicals
into our ecosystem, endangering the human and animal population. Chemicals such as pesticides, non-organic fertilizers, air pollutants, herbicides, lead, food additives, lead, mercury, synthetic fertilizers, and solvents are only some of the chemicals that seep into our bodies.
Heavy Metals: Lead, mercury, cadmium, arsenic, nickel, and aluminum. These metals can accumulate in the brain, kidneys, and immune system disrupting normal function. In studying the brains of Alzheimer’s patients who had died, researchers found one common denominator: all had high concentrations of aluminum.1
Microbial Compounds: Toxins produced by yeast and bacteria in the gut can be absorbed, causing significant disruption of body functions. Gut derived microbial toxins have been seen in a many diseases such as liver disease, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, thyroid disease, psoriasis, lupus, asthma and much more.2
To reduce your bodies absorption of toxic substances a fiber rich diet is great. You may think that a juice fast doesn’t provide any valuable fiber but in actuality, water-soluble fibers such as pectin are extremely valuable. Fiber has an ability to bind to these ugly toxins within the gut and move them out. Chia seeds also provide an amazing amount of fiber.
Also a juice fast provides something which is fast absorption of nutrients. Since there are only water-soluble fibers consumed during a juice fast, your body is quickly absorbing amazing nutrients and giving your much energy and also healing your body in the process.
Benefits of a Juice Fast:
Now that we know what dangers our body we can protect it.
A juice fast is a great detoxification method.
Participating in a juice fast is one of the quickest ways to eliminate wastes and increase the healing processes of the body.
Weight loss – most people lose weight during a juice fast.
Heightened level of alertness.
Things to know when you are on a juice fast:
During a juice fast, fresh vegetable juice and water should be consumed. I get asked many questions on what you should do during a juice fast. Here are some common facts about a juice fast:
Many people have asked me whether they can drink herbal teas during a juice fast…Herbal teas are great during a juice fast as long as it is unsweetened.
Prepare for a juice fast on the day before solid food is stopped by making the last meal one of only fresh fruit and vegetables
Pure water should be consumed during the juice fast. Approximately four 8 ounce glasses should be consumed everyday.
No coffee, soft drinks, cigarettes, or anything else should be consumed.
Body temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiratory rate usually slows during a juice fast so if you are cold use a blanket to stay warm.
After a juice fast, slowly incorporate food back into your diet.
The kidneys are mostly responsible for the elimination of toxic waste. The kidneys can be supported by drinking adequate amounts of fresh vegetable juice.
During a juice fast it is recommended that you juice organic produce.
If you are on certain medications make sure you check with your doctor before starting a juice fast.
The ability to detoxify is one of the critical factors for good health. Here are some testimonials from people who did the Alpha Reset juice fast.

Remember, I’m not a doctor and there isn’t significant evidence that a juice fast is proven by the medical community as treatment or a cure for anything. Here is a cool video of a juice fast recipe I made with one of my clients.
I am however an advocate of the juice fast as a means to transform my personal clients.
He told me it help him re-format his taste buds and now he actually enjoys healthy food.
If you are a person who has toxic taste buds, eats an excessive amount of food or has little or no will-power with the food decisions you make… you should consider doing one. Join the next group of people to partake in the the Alpha Reset. <—
Food addictions are not strictly “psychological” problems, but have a hard-wired, organic component.
This is a great post that was shared with my on Facebook, the original source. It is a little scientific for some I admit. The quality of content below is awesome. If you learn anything from this, feel free to share as I have. – Drew
These “food opiates” are heavily concentrated in wheat and dairy products, especially cow’s milk. Wheat contains the following opioid peptides, known as gluten exorphins, alongside which are listed their amino acid structure:
Gluten exorphin A5: H-Gly-Tyr-Tyr-Pro-Thr-OH
Gluten exorphin B4: H-Tyr-Gly-Gly-Trp-OH
Gluten exorphin B5: H-Tyr-Gly-Gly-Trp-Leu-OH
Gluten exorphin C: H-Tyr-Pro-Ile-Ser-Leu-OH
Gliadorphin: Tyr-Pro-Gln-Pro-Gln-Pro-Phe
Cow milk, depending on the milk variety (A1 or A2), contain a variety of combinations of the followingcasomorphin peptides:
It can be argued that many of the most popular foods consumed in Western culture are done so notprimarily for their nutritive value but rather for their addictive properties. Some of these foods we become truly infatuated with and are identified as “comfort foods,” that are “to die for,” or that we “love.”
Food opiates are widely distributed throughout our diet, and are found in many unsuspecting places. Fructose, which is fast becoming the primary source of calories in the American diet, while not itself an opioid peptide, is known to increase brain levels of endogenous morphine following ingestion,[1][2]and may produce metabolic products in the brain very similar to those produced by morphine.[3] In fact, it has been identified to stimulate a “hedonic pathway” in the brain, not unlike alcohol, which incidentally is metabolized along the same liver pathways.[4]Fructose, in isolated or concentrated form, is highly toxic and have been linked to over 70 health conditions.
Some other common food opiates include
Spinach: popular leafy green contains two opioid peptides named rubiscolins-5 and -6.[5][6]
Coffee: the oil known as cafestrol which is found in both decaffeinated and caffeinated coffee contains potent morphine-like activity.[7] Many of coffee’s effects therefore may be mediated via opiate receptors, as well as the effects of caffeine. [8]
Rice protein: rice albumin may have opioid properties, depending on how thoroughly it is digested; incomplete digestion may increase the likelihood of there being a pharmacologically active effect.
Meat and Fish Protein: when complex animal proteins are enzymatically degraded some exhibit opiate-like properties. Some of these “biogenic peptides” as they are known have been investigated for their potential role in the treatment and prevention of
Chocolate: One of the well-known mechanisms behind cocoa’s cardioprotective activity is the ability of epicatechin to act via opioid receptors, specifically through the δ-opioid receptor, to produce cardiac protection from injury associated with low oxygen.[10] Animal feeding studies also show that the opiate-blocking drug naloxone reduces chocolate cravings, suggesting that some of chocolate’s desirable qualities may be related to their opiate activity in the nervous system.[11]
Sugar: As mentioned above fructose has opiate-like properties, but so does sucrose (table sugar) and glucose. Since starch as found in “complex carbohydrates” is hidden sugar and often technically higher on the glycemic index than actual sugar (e.g. puffed rice makes the blood sweeter than white sugar), even grains may elicit addictive behaviors through the modulation of opioid pathways in the brain.
While many of our most commonly consumed foods and beverages contain food opiates, our original infatuation with opiate peptides actually begins at birth, as is nature’s inherently intelligent design. Being born into the world an extremely underdeveloped mammal (i.e. compared to horses we take years longer to gain independence),* the biological imperative is for there to be a strong bond between mother and offspring consummated in the act of breastfeeding.
Breast milk, therefore, contains actual morphine. This is to ensure that a very close bond forms and that the offspring will seek out and obtain nourishment by garnishing physical dependency.
The fact that our first food — breast milk — contains opiates and that the biosynthetic pathway for morphine exist in tissues such as the liver, blood and brain, indicate that our species was destined to be drawn to substances that either mimic the action of opiates, or modulate their secretion and/or activity within our bodies.[12]
Ultimately, many food opiates are consumed in order to self-medicate. Coffee, for instance, has profoundpsychoactive properties that cannot be reduced to its caffeine content alone. The opiate-like property of coffee explains why it may relax and/or reduce stress in certain people, raising the threshold of anxiety or aggression in a way quite opposite to what would be expected from the effects of caffeine alone.
This effect may be maintained as long as coffee is administered continuously, like any other pharmacologically drug. However, if suddenly withdrawn, some experience symptoms identical to those associated with withdrawal from opiate drugs.
In addition, many food opiates, such as are found in wheat and cow’s milk products, entice us to consume foods that are intrinsically unhealthy. Wheat, for instance, has been linked to over 160 health conditions, and cow’s milk is known to be a risk factor for type 1 diabetes. But both are consumed globally in the billions of pounds and lauded as “health foods” by the unsuspecting masses unaware of the addictive hold they may have on them. The Dark Side of Wheat and cow’s milk is rarely acknowledged, though the role of food opiates may shed some much needed light on the topic.
The point is that food is not just a “fuel” for the body, as classically defined through nutritional reductionism. It has profound genoregulatory and neuroendocrine modulating properties. One of the best ways to ascertain whether food opiates are affecting your health is to embark on an elimination diet. Sometimes following a gluten or cow’s milk free diet, the physiological shackles are thrown off, and it is possible to renewed health and vitality.
Many seemingly unrelated health conditions may improve and/or go into remission. When the food is reintroduced months later, it is far easier to feel its true effects on the body — adverse effects that were always there, but due to their chronic consumption were considered normal.
*an interesting fact of evolutionary biology is that our head size has grown so large in proportion to our hip size that we must be born with a relatively underdeveloped body in order to make it through the birth canal. This ensures that a great proportion of our development must occur outside of the womb, making our dependence on milk much more intense.
For the same reason that human breast milk contains morphine, the casomorphins in cow’s milk are intended to sedate/placate/anesthetize calves born into the wild. Is it any surprise that humans (whose poignantly aware brains contains as many neurons as stars in our galaxy!) are the only mammals who never stop weaning themselves from this narcotic elixir? Perhaps we dope and dumb ourselves down with these opiate peptides in order not to go insane from the poignant awareness that such a huge brain generates.

This article was forwarded to me by a friend asking for solutions to this fast evolving epidemic.
Pain Killers
This was a recent blog post on CNN.Com At the bottom the article, I’m going to give some information to detox before pregnancy. Keep in mind, I always encourage my clients to communicate with their doctors before doing the Alpha Reset or any of our other programs.
The cry of a baby withdrawing from prescription opiates is shrill, as if the child is in terrible pain.
“It’s a very high-pitched, uncomfortable cry,” said Dr. Aimee Bohn, a pediatrician with Mountain Comprehensive Health Corporation in Whitesburg, Kentucky. “It’s like the kid has been pinched.”
That characteristic cry is increasingly ringing through the hallways of hospitals nationwide, according to new research.
By 2009 there were more than 13,000 babies born with neonatal abstinence syndrome, a withdrawal syndrome that occurs in some babies after being exposed to a class of painkillers, called opiates, while in utero, according to the study published Monday.
“That’s about one baby per hour,” said Dr. Stephen Patrick, lead author of the study, which was published online in the Journal of American Medical Association. “We were surprised by it. That’s a startling increase.”
Perhaps more startling – that one baby per hour figure marks about a three-fold increase in the number of babies born with NAS since 2000; and during the same time period, opiate use among expectant mothers was also jumping, increasing nearly five-fold.
“There has been an incredible increase in the number of opiate pain relievers prescribed in the U.S.,” said Patrick, a fellow in the University of Michigan’s Division of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine. ”We think that might be part of the increase we are seeing.”
Patrick says he undertook the study after he and colleagues from other hospitals began noticing more and more babies in their neonatal intensive care units with hallmarks of NAS, which includes increased irritability, respiratory and feeding problems, low birth weight and, rarely, seizures.
Using hospital billing data from the Kids’ Inpatient Database, they identified which newborns were discharged with an NAS diagnosis to arrive at a national estimate.
Bohn says that a couple of years ago, one baby per hour born withdrawing from opiates would have surprised her. Today, she says, it is not surprising based on what she is seeing in eastern Kentucky, part of an area known as “ground zero” of prescription drug abuse.
“Women you would never guess have a problem because they are functioning in society come in addicted,” said Bohn.
Those mothers, said Bohn, are having babies with NAS at a rate of 1-2 cases per week, on a busy month, at her hospital. And that does not include babies who are exposed to prescription painkillers in utero, but somehow escape the overt symptoms at birth.
“A lot of times, the babies are a little jittery, they shake when they first come out,” said Bohn. “They become cranky, they don’t sleep and they develop terrible diaper rashes.”
The average hospital stay for a baby born withdrawing from painkillers is 16 days, according to the JAMA study, and 77% of the time, babies with NAS were charged under state Medicaid programs.
“What we found is that the total U.S. hospital bill quadrupled over the time frame [2000-2009] nearing 720 million dollars,” said Patrick. “That is extra incentive for state governments to engage in developing solutions to prevent this.”
First off, if you are dealing with pain and are on meds. I’m so sorry to hear you are. The first step is to pray and meditate. Many people feel like they don’t have time and this is often overlooked.
What Are The Best Ways To Detox?
Drink lots of water: with pink salt and lemon in it. This will help flush them out.
Drink juices: You may want to try the Alpha Reset or another fast before you get pregnant. (Start taking care of your body, before you bring another life into the world.) It’s abuse… seriously!)
Exercise: so simple but so many people are lacking at this. Movement is the 3rd most important thing to a human being.
Sauna: (Infrared.) to help “sweat” the chemicals out.
Sleep: Make sure you are coming into alignment with your bodies natural circadian rhythm, this is 10pm to 6pm.
Deep Breathing Techniques: Do yoga or practice breathing deeply throughout the day. Your lungs detox 70% of the toxins in your body.
Find a friend: to support you during your detox. Make sure that friends likes to give out free hugs. (No one does this anymore.)
I hope these tips/suggestions help. I’ve had friends and coaching students give up the drugs.
I believe ultimately it comes down to self care. These Moms are searching for something outside of themselves to solve the pain that is going on internally.
About 5 years ago I started to eliminate dairy out of my diet.
Thank God!
I didn’t know, like many Americans that I was allergic to conventional pasteurized milk.
Almond Milk
It wasn’t even really that noticeable most of the year but twice a year I would get a nasty sinus infection. I mean Nasty… my docs at the time said I just had bad allergies. I felt like I had a doctor for every allergin in the world and they all wanted to give me something different. When I would leave… I had a bag of 362 different scrips… it was like tricker treatin’ at the when I would leave the office.
I had a friend that was into Raw Food at the time introduce me to the raw amazing power of my favorite nut… the almond.
Who doesn’t love Almonds? Honey glazed almonds, roasted almonds, chilli pepper almonds, candied almonds and my personal favorite an almond covered up in a delicious date… I thought I was the poster boy for healthy eating…I was about 25 pounds over weight and had a gut from college.
These were the wrong ways to prepare the awesome almond.
I was eating almonds for taste and not the multitudes of benefits.
And…I didn’t even know the easiest way to prepare them…Almond Milk!
Almond milk provides excellent sources of protein, fiber, vitamin E, zinc, iron, selenium, magnesium, and calcium. Almonds have vitamin-like oils called essential fatty acids. Essential fatty acids are required for a healthy nervous system, anti-inflammatory effects, hormone balance and cell structure.
Here are 7 benefits of Almond Milk:
Almonds
Almond Milk Benefit #1: Weight Management
Plain almond milk without added sugars or flavoring contains 60 calories per each 8 oz serving size. This option works well for people looking to lose or maintain weight.
The low caloric content of almond milk causes less of an impact on our totally daily consumption of food calories. Some milk varieties contain more sugars than the cereal that they get combined with.
Almond Milk Benefit #2: Heart Health
Almond milk contains no cholesterol and only 5 mg of sodium per serving. Consuming foods low in sodium and cholesterol help us to maintain better heart health and normal blood pressure.
Without cholesterol, almond milk also decreases our chances of gaining bad cholesterol levels, all while increasing the good cholesterol levels. Almond milk also contains 150 mg of potassium in every serving. This mineral works to promote healthy blood pressure.
Almond Milk Benefit #3: Blood Sugar Friendly
Unlike other milk alternatives, the plain almond option contains only 8 grams of carbohydrates per serving. The 7 grams of sugars that make up the carbohydrate content have a limited affect on our blood sugar levels. When we consume simple sugars, our metabolic functions tend to miss the nutrients, storing much of the carbs as fat.
Instead, the low amount of sugars in almond milk have a low glycemic nature, meaning our bodies fully digest them and use them as energy. Diabetics benefit from this characteristic as well.
Almond Milk Benefit #4: Bone Health
Almond milk contains 30% of our recommended daily value of calcium and 25% of Vitamin D. These nutrients work together to build strong bones in men, women, children and infants.
Vitamin D also helps improve immunity and cell function. Some studies have shown that Vitamin D helps decrease osteoporosis and even Alzheimer’s disease. The magnesium in found in almond milk helps absorb more of the calcium provided by the nutritious beverage.
Almond Milk Benefit #5: Skin Care
Every serving of pure almond milk contains 50% of our recommended daily value of Vitamin E. This powerful nutrient has antioxidantabilities in that it helps regulate Vitamin A use and availability.
More importantly, Vitamin E acts the primary regulatory nutrient that improves skin health.
Almond Milk Benefit #6: Eye Health
The moderate levels of Vitamin A found in almond milk helps keep our eyes functioning properly. Vitamin A directly influences the eye’s ability to adjust to differences in light.
Almond Milk Benefit #7: More Muscle Power
Even though almond milk only contains 1 gram of protein per serving, it does contain B Vitamins in the form of riboflavin, plus other muscle regulating nutrients like iron. Each serving of almond milk contains about 4% of our recommended daily intake of iron, which helps muscles absorb and use protein for energy, growth and repair.
Iron also regulates certain cell functions like oxygen absorption.
Just a hand full of these nuts a day provides enough recommended levels of minerals, vitamins, and protein. Besides, almond oil extracted from the nuts has been used in as base or carrier oil in medicine, aromatherapy and in pharmaceuticals.
You can use almonds in your smoothies recipes. Almonds are a big part of my diet and pack the most energy of any other food. They make a healthy snack that is low in calories. Almonds are healthy nuts and they are definitely a great addition to your nutrition.
How to make almond milk?
Almond milk gives you almost 25% percent of your daily needs for magnesium, and more bone-strengthening calcium as an equal amount of cow milk. They are also high in many antioxidants, such as vitamin E and selenium. Studies show that almonds may play and important role in preventing colon cancer due to their high fiber content. Almonds also help us to actually lower negative forms of cholesterol in the blood stream.

More Facts About Almonds
Historians generally agree that almonds and dates, both mentioned in the Old Testament of the Bible, were among the earliest cultivated foods.
Star-Appeal Of Almonds:
Cinnamon-glazed almonds were President Clinton’s snack of choice at both the 1993 and the 1997 inaugurations.
Legendary Myths About Almonds:
According to superstition: If you eat almonds before taking a drink, you will reduce your chances of getting drunk and avoid having a hangover.

Juice Diet – are these diets becoming the “Big Thing?”
I should say juice diets are the big thing. I bought my first juicer around 2 years ago. Before that I was making green smoothies.
I enjoyed my diet recipes that included green smoothies but knew I had to step it up to the raw power of incorporating Juice in my diet.
How is juicing and blending different?
Then like a crack addict, I became addicted to the “juice buzz” that a juice diet would bring.
Have you ever felt the “Juice Diet Flush” it’s unlike a buzz produced by any other stimulant.
It just makes you happy, even more happy when you are surrounded by people that appreciate it as much as you. Some people or “characters” can be a little judgmental when you tell them you are on a juice diet.
My Cousin
Could you imagine what the world would be like if everyone was on a juice diet? ( I know, I sound like a hippie from the 70’s.)
Or at least incorporated it randomly through-out the week?
What are some Juice Diet Recipes that are easy to make?
Here is my personal favorite juice diet recipes for weight loss and detoxing the liver.
Also, when choosing what to juice for weight loss it is often good to remember “Green on the inside – clean on the inside” (link to other page)
So here are my top 10 things to juice for weight loss.
1 Cucumber
Juice Diet Greens
2 Celery
3 Dandelion Greens
4 Kale
5 Lemon
6 Parsley
7 Cilantro
8 Jalapeño
9 Rainbow Chard
10 Ginger
Notice, how there is NO fruit in my top 10 juice diet recipes. This is because fruit has fructose in it. Which in laymans term is “sugar.”
I know what your thinking… fruit-fructose sugar is good though right?
It’s ok… when you are getting the fiber with it, because the fiber helps regulate your insulin. Your insulin is like the “should I store this as fuel or fat” sensor on your body.
Not On The Juice Diet
When it spikes your body goes into “fat storing” mode. So… the goal of my juice diet plan is to keep my insulin stable while flushing out those pesky dangerous toxins that are causing inflammation in my gut… hiding my toned sexy stomach, giving me a muffin top. (Not cool toxins, not cool)
For people that are just getting into a juice diet your taste buds may not be ready for the straight greens. That’s ok. It takes an Alpha Reset or two to get there.
To sweeten my juice diet recipes up, I will add a half of a granny smith green apple or a half of a pear. Both are low in carbs and have less of an insulin spike than most fruits.
Check out this juice diet recipes for weight loss. Remember to peel your veggies if they are not organic.

So start implementing these types of juice diet recipes into your daily intake and watch your weight loss journey start to excel. Also, if you are wanting to gain muscle, jucing helps by flushing out toxins and helping your body absorb more of what you need.
The bottom line is… you, like most people, may be eating all the right things, eating clean and still are unable to get the body want. This is why I’ve spent endless hours researching and figuring out through trail and error…
What juice diet really works!
In closing, remember the old adage. Rome was not built over night. Any real life long change takes time. Stop expecting your body to change over night. You’ve probably spent years on end, not treating it like the temple that it is. That’s ok, we can get you back on track and functioning on a higher level, you just have to have patience. Cool? (I knew you would say yes.)

Juicing Recipes – Dandelion Greens, Comfrey And Nettle Leaf
If you and I were trapped in the forest and we were thirsty / starving and all of a sudden a juicer parachuted in from our sponsors and nothing else was around… how would we survive? (Think Juicing Games)
We would juice weeds! (Not Juicing Marijuana.)
We would juice wild greens silly. I’m sure you’ve seen them hanging out like the red headed step child in the Whole Foods market begging for attention, often to be overlooked by the much more popular Lenny The Lacinto Kale.
Lenny Lacinto
Pfft. “Kale is the new beef!” Over and over this new slogan plays in the Dandelion greens little head.
How do you think she feels?
Poor girl.
Secretly knowing that she deserves much more. Powerful and packed with a potent punch of phytonutrients…
EVEN MORE NUTRIENTS THAN JUICING KALE!
The humble and overlooked Dandelion Green and her friends Comfrey and Stinging Nettles are often meditating in the corner talking about, how one day the secret will get out and they will have to remain ego-less.
The Humble Dandelion
Stinging Nettle
Comfrey - The Bone Binder
Now let’s put our juicing caps on shall we?
Don’t know what juicing these wild greens are good for?
Have you ever taken a walk outside and seen the little yellow flowers that seem to pop up over night?
Or have you ever been stung by the stinging nettle?
It would take an entire day to get over the sting. (I was a whimp as a kid) Ask my mother. When I was 7 in the hottest Michigan months I used to wear swamp boots, for fear of contracting lime disease. LOL – Don’t tell anyone. I’m not as super-hero’esq as I appear.
Drinking them in tinctures and/or herbal infusions are quite different from juicing them. Just make sure you really know what you are juicing… I don’t want to have to have the FitLife juicing squad heli-drop from the sky to kick your booty. Just make ‘sure’ you know what greens to be juicing. This is why we say, purchase them from stores, instead of randomly picking them up in the open fields, parks or forests. Besides, who knows what kinds of pesticides people are using on their lawns now. You could wake up with a third eye. (Not the kind that you want, and no you can’t shoot lasers out of it.)
Miraculously these three different greens pack a powerful punch when they are juiced. And no, the stinging Nettles do not get into rip your throat open when you are juicing them! And no, the yellow flowers that accompany them are not suggested for juicing.
How do you find Comfrey, Stinging Nettles and Dandelion Greens To Use For Juicing?
Most all Farmer’s Markets carry them, and Co-ops have them in the summertime. High five your produce grocer or local farmer and ask her where you can find them to make some amazing juicing recipes? Then do what I do… and talk them into juicing, their family into juicing and all of their neighborhood into juicing.
Local Farmers Market
What’s the best way to select them?
Dandelion Greens are best picked when they are young. The older the leaves, the more bitter they will taste.
Suppose your doctor tells you, on your next visit, that he has just discovered a miracle drug which, when eaten as a part of your daily diet or taken as a beverage, could, depending on the peculiarities of your body chemistry: prevent or cure liver diseases, such as hepatitis or jaundice; act as a tonic and gentle diuretic to purify your blood, cleanse your system, dissolve kidney stones, and otherwise improve gastro-intestinal health; assist in weight reduction; cleanse your skin and eliminate acne; improve your bowel function, working equally well to relieve both constipation and diarrhea; prevent or lower high blood pressure; prevent or cure anemia; lower your serum cholesterol by as much as half; eliminate or drastically reduce acid indigestion and gas buildup by cutting the heaviness of fatty foods; prevent or cure various forms of cancer; prevent or control diabetes mellitus; and, at the same time, have no negative side effects and selectively act on only what ails you. If he gave you a prescription for this miracle medicine, would you use it religiously at first to solve whatever the problem is and then consistently for preventative body maintenance?
All the above curative functions, and more, have been attributed to one plant known to everyone, Taraxacum officinale, which means the “Official Remedy for Disorders.” We call it the common dandelion. – Peter Gail -
The genus name for comfrey is Symphytum, which means to “unite or knit together.” The name com-firma means, simply, “knitting of bones.”
Comfrey contains a special substance called allantoin, which is a cell proliferative. In other words, it makes cells grow faster. This is one of the reasons why comfrey-treated bones knit so fast, wounds mend so quickly, and burns heal with such little scarring.
Comfrey leaves follow the Dandelion Greens as far as picking goes. But if you don’t have them growing in your neighborhood (we don’t really suggest doing this because people use pesticides on their lawn and also pesticides for spiders) so we suggest buying them from the Health Food Stores, Co-ops and other Farmer’s Markets.
Stinging Nettles ~ follow the same course. The larger they are, they more bitter they are. Buy them (wrapped) so that your hands do not touch the leaves. For over 2,000 years, doctors have recognized the herb’s ability to stop all kinds of internal and external bleeding, and considered it a good blood purifier. Juicing it has been found to help cure mucus congestion, skin irritations, water retention, and diarrhea. The beverage is also said to help nursing mothers produce milk . . . and stimulate the digestive glands of the stomach, intestines, liver, pancreas, and gall bladder.
Here are some fantastic juicing combinations and I have been juicing for the past six or seven years:
(Just as an FYI….when you use these greens in the juicing recipes they are very potent, and we suggest you start slowly, and don’t drink more than 8 ounces at a time) because you may incur a bit of diarrhea, intestinal cramping or nausea. This juicing recipe will give you 8 ounces, whereas juicing this tonic once a day for ten days without having any kind of negative reaction. If you want to amp it up a bit, then double the juicing recipe for one person, 16 ounces.

GREEN JUICE I LOVE YOU SO, GREEN JUICE YOU ARE MY AMIGO…
My personal favorite. It’s just so good for you…loaded with chlorophyl, magnesium and zinc and a whole host of other phytonutrients.
You’ve probably seen a lot of people turning towards green juice drinks recently. I started my green juice/drink career about 5 years ago. I had an older gentlemen present a little gift to me. (It looked like a glass of swamp water.) I’ve always had a fear of swamps, so this was a little bit awkward for me. That day, I decided to drink my fear and slam this giant glass of gobblie goop. (Green Juice)
Let’s just say I’m glad I did. I felt like the AMAZING after chuggin’ this thing. My body was so nutrient deprived, it soaked up every last drop of the green juice madness and I became the HULK. I know, it’s a cartoon pic… the real pic is too graphic for your young virgin eyes.

“Green Juice” has an alluring level of mystery to it.
Green Potion. Green Mystery. Green Machine. Green Lantern. Green
something else…
The term green juice, is meant to describe any juice – that is in fact some shade of the color green. Green juice may be a combination of fruit and veggies or it may be 100% veggies. Green Juice ingredients may be 100% crisp green, or a rainbow of colors. I’m a personal fan of using all greens.
ALL YOU VEGGIE HATERS DRINK UP!
Most people assume that if they hate veggies, they will dislike green juice. (Sorry to through you under the bus dad.) Not so. Green juice, when properly prepared delivers delightful intermingling flavors: salty and sweet. Spicy and sour. Pungent and mild. Tart and warm. Each ingredient produces a unique flavor property – and with a little creative license, you can easily craft your perfect variation of “Green Juice”. Here are my favorite recipes – and a few steps to creating your own…
Also, don’t be affraid to add weeds to your green drinks. Personally I love juicing recipes with dandelion greens, comfrey and nettle leaf. For more info on them go here. <—

Even if you do not consider yourself to be health conscious, you have likely heard of the Master Cleanse.
Although the Master Cleanse has always been a popular way to detoxify the body, the award winning singer Beyonce brought it additional attention. Even though many claim the Master Cleanse is successful, it is important to understand the process before you get started.
The ingredients needed for the Master Cleanse include cayenne pepper, grade b maple syrup, water, fresh lemons, and senna tea. In terms of instructions, the best thing to do is to purchase a Master Cleanse guidebook. There are different guides and books available for sale. In addition to detailed instructions, you will be provided with other tips and tricks to help you on the cleanse.
Although the purchase of the Master Cleanse guide is recommended, a drink will consist of 2 tablespoons of lemon juice from a fresh lemon, 2 tablespoons of maple syrup, 1/10 teaspoon of cayenne pepper, and 8 ounces of water. It is important to use genuine grade b maple syrup, not artificial, and a fresh organic lemon, not the prepackaged lemon juice. Six to ten glasses of this concoction can be taken everyday.
In addition to the drink mix, which you will have multiple times throughout the day, senna tea is recommended at night. This tea will help to prepare your digestive system for the follow day. Many also do a salt-water flush each morning, also to help the process along. A salt-water flush will contain a small amount of salt, which should be natural sea salt.
The Master Cleanse, although classified as a whole body cleansing program, will work wonders for your colon and digestive track. For this reason, you will make multiple trips to the bathroom. You may want to start the cleanse on a weekend, giving you time to adjust before you return to work. Despite the possibility of a variance, many see almost immediate results following the morningís salt-water flush.
As for the length of the Master Cleanse, you will find some variances. Many start out with a 10-day cleanse; however, there are reports of people cleansing for a month or more. If this is your first cleanse, it is important to start out slow and small. Aim for the 10 days. With that said, some individuals cannot handle 10 days without solid foods. If you experience severe pain and discomfort, stop the cleanse. For many, it takes a couple of tries before they are able to achieve a full 10-day cleanse.
Speaking of pain and discomfort, you will likely experience it. Going even two days without the consumption of solid foods will result in moderate to severe hunger pains. These pains may be accompanied by dizziness and nausea. If you are a coffee or soda drinker, you may start to experience caffeine withdrawal. In addition to dizziness and vomiting, you may develop a severe headache. Many also report stomach cramps; however, those who deal with these craps, often report disappearance within a day or two.
Following the master cleanse, you may crave solid foods. Before you start eating everything you have craved for the past week, it is important to start out slow. Adding too many solid foods to your diet right away can have serious complications, including stomach pains and vomiting. You should start with all-natural juice, applesauce, and other easy to digest and sallow foods. There are a few different things you want to do to prepare for a cleanse.
You may also choose to order your master cleanse pre-packaged to save time. If you are in San Diego, I would recommend ordering from Detox Lounges.
